While the Invocation of The Fool I posted yesterday is present and immediate, today’s posting of an Invocation to The World is expansive. I use this invocation when I’m about to do some meditation on my long range goals or when I really need to find my internal place of gratitude for how much I have been given in this life and how life itself is a gift:
Consider what you know of Life:
It exists in every place you look–
From the pebble you trip over by day
To the exalted presence you kneel to at night.
Remember this one pertinent fact: You Are Alive.
Every particle revolving around a nucleus
Contributes to that life.
Every cell carrying life to another
Creates the community that calls you God.
Aspire, therefore, to the life beyond–
Take yourself some place that’s new.
Remember, when tossed into the still pond
A rock creates ripples not few.
