Circle of Dionysos

It is *hot* today in San Francisco–one of those days when everyone needs to open their windows!  For those of us who live in urban areas however, sometimes opening the windows can be problematic.  Do we really want to let all of that unintentional and possibly negative energy that is hanging about on the streets into our own personal temples?

Here’s a little cantrip I always use as a warding on these days when I need some air:

Spirits of Light, come in and play;

Spirits of Darkness stay away

Sweet Grass and Sage, Candle Bright

Keep me safe Morn, Noon, and Night.

Feel free to call out whatever consecrating herbs you use in your home space instead of sweet grass and sage.  As you say this,imagine a porous membrane around your living space that lets in light and air, but keeps out any anger, frustration or “bad vibes” that may be coming off the street.  Then open your window and believe that only the things you want to come into your living space will enter through that window.  And if something unwanted *does* come through your shields, make good on your promise to re-consecrate!
